LONDON (AP) -NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has met English soccer officials to advise them on an American Football rule designed to create more opportunities for black and minority coaches.

The English Football Association and League Managers' Association has been exploring the possibility of emulating the NFL's Rooney Rule, which requires teams to interview at least one minority candidate when filling head coach and general manager positions.

Goodell was joined at Thursday's meeting with FA officials by Pittsburgh Steelers chairman Dan Rooney, who pushed for the diversity rule that was eventually named after him.

Goodell says they were "more than happy to share our perspective."

There are currently no black managers in England's Premier League.
